A newly built independent floor on one of Gurugram's busiest arterial roads. The client's brief was simple: the bedrooms had to be quiet enough to sleep in with the road running twenty metres away.
We specified 6+0.76 acoustic laminated glass on the road elevation inside a 5+12+6.76 sealed unit, with casement windows rather than sliders so the sash could compress onto its gaskets. Rear elevations used standard double-glazed sliders to keep the budget sensible.
Measured reduction on the road-facing master bedroom was 38dB against the open window.
